Chocolate Chip Cookies

I’ve been craving chocolate chip cookies, so tonight I made some.  True story.

You should make them, too!  Here’s the recipe:

1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup (2 sticks) butter, softened
2 eggs
1.5 teaspoons vanilla
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
3 cups all-purpose flour, unbleached
12 ounces semi-sweet chocolate chips

Combine sugars, butter, eggs, and vanilla in large bowl.  Now, here’s the secret: let this mixture sit for ~15 minutes to reach room temperature.  It will make your cookies softer.   After you let the butter mixture sit for a little while, add baking soda, salt, and flour and stir until combined.  Then stir in chocolate chips.

Drop by rounded teaspoons onto greased baking sheet about 2 inches apart.  Bake at 375F for 10-12 minutes.

  1. Almost nothing in the world can beat a warm chocolate chip cookie fresh out of the oven. (And then they make the house smell so wonderful too!) Looks like you added plenty of chocolate chips — just the way I like my cookies!
